Join the Stage: Girl Group K-POP Dance Workshop with Su young Park

Join an immersive performing experience where you are part of an empowered girl group song dancing K-POP! A beginner-friendly K-POP dance workshop where you are most encouraged to learn the moves from industry expert, dance artist Su young Park, have the freedom to embody the K-POP star in your heart or simply enjoy the fantastic group vibe.

Then come to Camden on 18th Nov 12pm to join the workshop taking place at Mews Studios.

This workshop is set to have 12 people max to ensure everyone has a fantastic experience of being in the group dance, which will also include spacing and filming (which you can opt out of course).

• Learn from teacher Suyoung who has 18 years of K-Pop teaching industry experience and also a well-respected contemporary artist, with clear instructions tailoed to each individual, to master a favourite song efficiantly
• Feeling the empowering K-Pop vibe, dance, have fun and make friends :)

Su Young will choreograph a beginner-friendly piece tailored to the group, suitable for all levels. Moves will be broken down and taught. In the small group everyone will be coached with attention to their unique movement, regardless of your levels. There’s also a chance to let the teacher know if you want to embody a specific idol, star or character to work on the individual details even better. The workshop will result in a mini group dance piece with spacing.

Su young Park is a multidisciplinary artist originally from South Korea based in London. She is a professional dancer and instructor with skills in Kpop, Improvisation and Hiphop with 18 years in the global industry, having taught in South Korea and then in countries around the world. She is a judge of the Kpop UK National Competition. As a multidisciplinary artist her understanding of movement, body and cultures is also presented in other art forms through contemporary performance works. That’s why she brings authentic Kpop dance teaching with an emphasis of “we are together at this moment”.

1. Will the level of this workshop be suitable for me?

w: Su young choreographes a 16 count dance prior to the workshop which can accommodate all levels, from total beginners to more experienced. It is also a small group so the teacher pays attention to each participant to help them learn well. Suyoung's years of experience of teaching K-pop internationally and in the UK enable her to identify problems quickly and facilitate each level well. Besides, K-Pop Dance is a popular style with a lot of simple moves when you brean down and you're encouraged to dance your personality into a sequence :)

2. What can I take away from the workshop?

w: Learn techniques and principles behind Kpop dance, get instructions from an industry expert, an authentic taste of South Korean Pop culture, be part of a mini stage piece and get your film and most importantly, have fun in a girl group vibe!!!
